A little bit about me! My name is Natalie and i have 17 years experience as a hairdresser/ hair extension technician & 2 years experience in teaching hair extensions.
I was 23 years old when i decided to go to college and learn a skill. I left school at 16 years old with no gcse's and no clue where i was going in life. I grew up in not the best part of the world up north. After leaving school i did a few random jobs like i remember one working for knicker factory at 6am till 6pm, i didn't last long till i quit :) I then went on to do admin work in offices. At 19 years old i decided to move to London (bright lights & all that, which my poor mother must of been worried sick ) I worked doing a few admin jobs and realized that i found it boring im more of a creative person, i like being social and not stuck at a desk 24/7 so at 23 i decided i was going to go to college and study hairdressing, at first i never really took it serious i just needed something else to do. But i loved the course and had passion & drive in me i wanted to succeed so put my all into to make sure i passed , i worked bar work on the evening while studying in the day and it was all worth it:) I qualified when i was 24 years old and went straight into a mainstream branded salon (i wont name) i learned a lot of experience from this i worked with girls that had years experience as a hairdresser and took me under their wing. I then went and did a course in bonded hair extensions that i soon realised that this is my passion. At 27 i had my daughter my world, i took a couple of years out to care for her and be a mum. I wanted to go back to hairdressing but couldn't commit to the hours of working for someone so decided to go it alone and be self employed. I rented a room in salon for abit built my clientele and then decided to open my own salon. It was a great idea and i don't regret it but looking back now i had no clue what i was getting myself into. Owning a hair salon is hard work and stressful, i loved what i do but decided after 9 years to give it up a work from a studio where i have more freedom and quality time with family. When lock down happened i got my teaching qualification and now concentrate on hair extensions and hair extension training. I am passionate in what i do and want to share my experience over 17 years with other people who are new to the industry and them help them succeed. I guess what I'm trying to say is that anyone can be successful as long as you put determination and hard work into it. I don't just want to be another training academy i truly want to change peoples life's with teaching them a new skill that be very profitable :)
